Yay! It’s finally release day for the March My Monthly Hero Kit by Hero Arts! What a fabulous release it is too! If you haven’t guessed by now, it’s all about works of art and a trip to the museum. The add-ons compliment the impressionistic kit with additional styles and genres of art. In order to see all the possibilities of creating with this collection, there’s a blog hop that features an impressive list of amazing designers. To see all of their works of art, check out the list at the bottom of this post. All products and info on the Hero Arts giveaway are listed at the end of this post as well. Hope you will take the time to enter!

So what does this month’s kit look like? So glad you asked!

Here’s what’s in the kit:

• 4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set

• Fancy Window Die

• 4 Embossing Powders in Goldenrod, Orange, Blue, Purple (1/4 oz. each)

• Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink Cube

• 2 Sheets Extra Thick Canvas Paper (4.25″ x 5.5″)

• 1 Sheet Canvas-textured Paper (5.5″ x 8.5″)

This is a LIMITED quantity kit. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, so make sure to order yours today.

So let’s look at what I created with this set…

The background was colored with Reactive inks then stamped with Intense Black ink splats from the kit. It was framed with a die-cut sand-colored cardstock and embellished with Copic markers. The couple was fussy-cut from Pitch Black cardstock, highlighted with white chalk and attached to the frame. I penciled in the checkered board floor and then attached the embossed sentiment.

I also created this card using only the ink-splat background from the kit with Lemon Drop, Taffy and Creamcycle Reactive Inks and cut them out using the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies. I love the positive messages in this set.

And now for some of the awesome add-on sets…

I absolutely LOVE these Pop-Art Flowers and Die-cuts! The background was created from the Picasso-Inspired Stencil using a smidge of Intense Black ink with a blending brush. Flowers were stamped and die-cut then embellished with Copic Markers.

And then there is this beautiful Impressionist Water Lilies HeroScape and coordinating Frame Cuts, another favorite of mine that I paired with the current Nature Fancy Border Die. The background and the Water Lilies were colored with Reactive Inks using blending brushes. To be honest, I did not tackle this project without looking into what exactly impressionistic art is. Once I understood a little bit of the style, I was able to choose colors and layering that I thought best represented that style. I guess one of the reasons I like creating cards is that I like to learn more about different kinds of art. I never like staying in the same style. I like pushing the envelope and trying something new. What about you?

Well, those are my cards for today. Sure hope you found something that made you want to create. As I mentioned earlier, we have a huge blog hop filled with a variety of styles, where there’s something for everyone. Make sure to check it out. Thanks for hanging here.

XO,
